Candy Cone was originally started by Poppy Gonzalez as an outlet for the music of 'Hush Collector'. As we grow, we intend to add recordings from connected projects and bands including previously unnavailable recordings from 'Dreamfield', the transatlantic London/Boston band who earned a hardcore fan base back in the days when mp3.com ruled the rapidly advancing but as yet innocent internet music scene and new music from other independent artists whose music is close to our hearts and inspires us to do just that.

Current cohorts offering time and love include Simon Wheeler, New Media director at the 'Beggars Group' who Poppy has shared many musical road trips with; most notably 'Si Sen Si' whose 'A Very Nice Country' ep was released by Beggars in the days when she was also playing with 4AD's 'Mojave 3' as their original pianist. Also on board Dreamfield’s Gregg McKella of 'psychedelic clarinet' playing fame, who can be spotted lending his unique talents around London and the south coast with 'Paradise 9' and Nik Turner's 'Inner City Unit' and Texas based multi-talented 'Of Silence And Sound' creator, Jorge Martinez.

Currently, we are a fledgeling microdot on the label landscape, devoted to releasing music we are personally passionate about without any creative interference, in our own time style and fashion. With a limited bank balance and a lot of love and good will, our wish is to bring quirky, darkly beautiful, mostly downtempo and essentially independent music, to a wider audience across the globe and who like us, generally prefer to reside outside the mainstream.
