Mountain Song - Dave Dark & the Sharks Remixes (2007) X010265 |
“for after the party and the morning after”
Hush Collector were formed late 2005 in Brighton, UK, by Poppy Gonzalez and Katie Mummery. Introspective, restrained and spacious, they create music of a potent melancholic beauty. The songs are warmth and melodic and generally take a lethargic tempo. Hushed vocal harmonies which as one reviewer put it “see the girls duetting with supernatural intuition” are occasionally broken up with the odd sonic outburst, a hint of country noir lurks quietly in the wings. Perfect for the after the party and the morning after Hush Collector are essential listening.
The first songs recorded at Church Rd Studio Brighton, were released on the “Flowby ep”. Hush Collector are currently concentrating on finishing the full length album.

the more you hear – Sparse yet rich, intense and very appealing”

— Losing Today Mag
“Warm and organic material and headily addictive. It’s tingly and utterly
delicious”
— Tim Peacock, Whisperin & Hollerin’
“Sexily hushed vocals, wheezy armospherics and slow burning progressions;
as I listen to ‘It Don’t Matter’, I am left wanting more of these
lush, hushed, sounds”
— Opus Zine
“they have a flair for producing the most intricate, poignant music on the
western front, a genuinely exquisite sound”
— Alt Links
“They manage to do in four songs what most bands fail to do in an entire
album – which is captivate and manipulate without tiring out the listener”
